With a population of more than 450,000, Tulare County abounds with residents that are always ready and willing to give back to their communities, particularly as we head into the holidays.
And once again, Robyn Graham and Associates of Keller-Williams Realty will host a canned food drive to help those in need.
The annual canned food drive arose from our clients’ desire to give back to their communities. It is exciting to work with a team where the company mission is not just about selling homes, but extends to being a community connector and resource and helping to build connections and a strong community.
With that, we mixed in a little friendly competition among individual neighborhoods to encourage participation. Beginning Nov. 9, we will be in four neighborhoods across Visalia collecting canned and non-perishable foods to benefit FoodLink for Tulare County’s annual “Stuff the Trolley” event.
The Stuff the Trolley event kicks off Nov. 7 and runs through Nov. 27.
By organizing a neighborhood food drive, we hope to build a greater sense of camaraderie and genuine friendship amongst our neighbors. We also hope to show our community as a whole that the power of one neighborhood, one street and one home can make an enormous difference for many families.
In our first year, we collected more than 60 grocery bags filled with canned food from just two neighborhoods in Visalia. Due to the request of neighbors wanting to participate, we have now expanded our collection to four communities throughout Visalia and look forward to breaking our record again this year.
Please come out and say hello, introduce yourself and get involved! You can find us from noon to 2 p.m. throughout November at any one of the following neighborhoods:
• Nov. 9: Millwood (on Demaree Street, between Mineral King and Goshen avenues)
• Nov. 10: Country Acres (on Akers Street, between Hurley and Goshen avenues)
• Nov. 16: Oakwest Pinnacles (on Hurley Avenue, across from Hurley Elementary)
• Nov. 17: Ashley Grove (on Modoc Avenue between Demaree and County Center streets, north of Ferguson Avenue)
If you and your family would like more specific directions to these neighborhoods or would like to have your canned and nonperishable foods picked up from your home, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 303-9821.
As Realtors, we believe we can make a difference in our growing community and are grateful to the neighborhoods that inspired us to promote such a wonderful event. We are excited to meet new neighbors and connect again with old ones as we venture upon another holiday season.
If your family or neighborhood would like to become a part of our annual canned food drive, please contact us — we would love to see more neighborhoods join in on the giving. We look forward to meeting you and becoming a part of your neighborhood community.
